Ergonomic Design of Unmanned Aerial System Components

Nowadays unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are deeply integrated in different sectors of the global economy. Correct exploitation of UAS requests a specially trained team. Optimal UAS - Human interrogation is a key element to effective mission support during the whole period of UAS life. Effective UAS - Human interrogation should be based on ergodesign studies of UAS and its subsystems (unmanned aerial vehicles, ground control stations, launch/landing devices, etc.). Ergodesign is based on anthropometric data, functional, psychophysiological macro- and micro-analysis of main UAS elements. UAS could be considered as a set of elements that are in stable interaction with each other with relatively defined perils. The main task of ergodesign is to ensure the efficiency, safety, and comfort of the management, maintenance, and repair processes of UAS. In the paper, we define and analyze the main aspects of UAS ergonomic design. Attributes of ergodesign support of UAS and its structural elements are considered in the paper in detail. The expert judgment method is used to evaluate the level of ergodesign support in UAS.
