The problem of pair selection for aircraft positioning by navigational aids has been discussed in paper. Represented approach fuses data from DME/DME, VOR/DME, and VOR/VOR in order to provide the optimal selection of positioning method and optimal pair of navigational aids for particular point of airspace. Optimization problem is represented as objective function and constraints in terms of integer linear programming. Positioning performance characteristics, such as accuracy and availability, were used for formulation of objective function. An availability of navigational aids is estimated using information from database about navigational aids and their standard service volumes. Verification of proposed approach is performed with a help of computer-based simulation using flight track data.
